TMSA Young Trad Tour

An annual celebration of Scotland’s best young folk talent, the TMSA Young Trad Tour brings together the finalists and winners of that year’s BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition in a full band setting – collaborating rather than competing. The winner of the previous year’s award is also invited to join the group, which tours to its member’s hometowns after recording an album, offering a comprehensive showcase of the nation’s finest young talent.

As both project and tour manager, Craig Corse, of TwentyTwo Promotions, has been at the helm of the project since 2013, overseeing and co-ordinating almost all aspects of the annual tour and album. From collating eight or nine busy diaries (including the musical director), to priming venues and confirming tour dates; sourcing and liaising with sound and lighting crews; booking rehearsal and recording studios, accommodation, travel and often driving the tour vehicle itself; to managing the project’s budget, keeping a lid on expenditure, and reporting to funding bodies – Craig has many a spreadsheet on the go!
